WHY FASHION?
Hi everyone, I´m Nagore and I study bilingual journalism in Universidad de Navarra. This is a blog I created with two of my classmates in order to express our little knowledge about a topic as wide as fashion and share with all of you our thoughts in different aspects of fashion, such as; fashion weeks, different trends that are really popular these days and street style.
In this weeks blog entry, we are supposed to talk about our connection with fashion, but I feel like explaining why I ended up in my college and not in another one kind of summarizes everything, so let´s start.
Since I was little, I have always loved fashion. When I was 2, I started choosing my outfits for school. My mum always tells stories about how I would start crying if she would dress me and how, even without knowing to speak, I would point at the blue dress I had in my wardrobe and don't stop crying until I had it on. From a very young age, I would always pay attention to the different outfits people around me were wearing and later remember those people as the girl in the pink dress or the man with the red tie. My family would be impressed by how fast I would remember those people's outfits without knowing even their names.
When I was growing up, I started to be really into fashion magazines, and even though my mum wouldn't let me buy all the big girl magazines I saw, such as Vogue(https://www.vogue.es/) and Vanity Fair (https://www.revistavanityfair.es/), she would buy little kids ones for me. I always read those magazines over and over again and when I was done, I would take my mum's magazines without her knowing and lock myself up in my room for hours and read all the magazines I could until my mum got back from work. My mum obviously noticed, so one day she bought me my first Vogue. It was a dream come true for me and that's the moment when I knew I wanted to study something related to magazines and fashion.
And here I am now, writing a blog post 10 years later in my dorm room remembering how I got here and how lucky I am to study bilingual journalism + fashion in my university. So please, if you really are passionate about something in life; such as science, cars or even if you are a fashion addict like me, just go for it.
